thank you for this detailed explanation. That seems plausible to me.

Ok, so booth have an absolut different approach.

Is there somebody who is interested in helping me to port SCTP to 2.4 kernel?

What parts are missing to forward SS7 data from, for example a T1 line to 
SCTP? If the diagram I draw a few weeks ago isnīt wrong, one needs MTP 1-3 and 
SCTP, M2UA, M3UA for the other side and an application on top of MTP3 and M3UA?
