SS7 MTP2 User Peer-to-Peer Adaptation Layer (M2PA)

This is the SS7 MTP2-User Peer-to-Peer Adaptation Layer (M2PA) network driver of the OpenSS7
SIGTRAN stack. This component implements the M2PA functions in a STREAMS module.
The M2PA STREAMS module provides the Signalling Link Interface (SLI).
The M2PA STREAMS module can be pushed over a Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) or
other Transport Provider Interface (TPI) stream to provide an M2PA SS7 link.
The M2PA component was started in January 2001.
The M2PA component of the OpenSS7 stack is in the Maintenance stage; however, it has been
rewritten on a number of occasions.
This component depends on the SS7 MTP Level 2 Signalling Link Interface (SLI) and Transport
Provider Interface (TPI) access to the Stream Control Transmission Protocol (SCTP) or other

Test programs and results for Q.781 conformance testing (in accordance with
draft-bidulock-sigtran-m2pa-test-02.txt) are available in the test
