Additional reference information on STREAMS can be found on our FAQ page: "Where can I find more information on the OSI STREAMS interfaces?" Additional information on STREAMS can also be obtained from the LiS STREAMS website at http://www.gcom.com/. This OpenSS7 STREAMS implementation has been fashioned of the work done in the early 90's by the OSI Special Interest Group and published by UNIX International, Inc. Because these specifications are freely available, you can download a copy of them here for reference as follows:
ComponentsLinux Data Link references include the Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) CAE specification from the OpenGroup. STREAMS INET references include the X/Open Networking Services (XNS) and the Transport Provider Interface (TPI) CAE specifications from the OpenGroup. STREAMS SCTP references include the X/Open Networking Services (XNS) and the Transport Provider Interface (TPI) CAE specifications from the OpenGroup. STREAMS references include the UNIX System V Release 4.2 Programmer's Guide - STREAMS. The primary Linux Kernel reference is the Linux kernel source code itself. InterfacesTranport Layer Interface (TLI) Modules (timod, tirdwr) References to the older Transport Layer Interface (TLI) comes directly from SVR 4 documentation. This interface has been replaced by the newer X/Open Transport Interface (XTI) CAE specification from the OpenGroup. The OpenGroup. (formerly X/Open) CAE specifications are the principle reference source for the X/Open Transport Interface (XTI). Socket System Driver (socksys) and Module (sockmod) References to the older Socket System (SOCKSYS) comes directly from SVR 4 documentation. This interface has been replaced by a directy kernel Sockets interface (XNS). The OpenGroup. (formerly X/Open) CAE specifications and the POSIX/SUSv3 specification are the reference source for the Sockets interface. Transport Provider Interface (TPI) The primary Transport Provider Interface (TPI) reference is the Transport Provider Interface (TPI) CAE specification from the OpenGroup. Network Provider Interface (NPI) The primary Network Provider Interface (NPI) reference is the Network Provider Interface CAE sepcification from the OpenGroup. Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) The primary Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) reference is the Data Link Provider Interface (DLPI) CAE specification from the OpenGroup. Communications Device Interface (CDI) The primary Communications Device Interface (reference) is the Communications Device Interface (CDI) specification from NCR Comten. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
